December 17, 2020
Dear Sugar Grove Family,
We hope and pray this update on Sugar Grove Church finds you well! As Elders and Deacons, we met on Wednesday (12/16) to review and discuss when to re-open for Worship Services on Sunday mornings.
We reviewed the latest information from the Elkhart County Health Department and know that the number of cases and positivity rates for Covid-19 are still at elevated levels. However, there is one key difference now versus then … a number of our staff and key volunteers were Covid-19 positive and in isolation/quarantine. The blessing is that our staff team is now healthy as well as many of our key volunteers.
After a lengthy discussion as a team, we were unified in our decision to begin offering onsite services again. Beginning this Sunday, December 20th, we will be re-open with the Classic Service and two Modern Services. The nursery will be available for families to use, but there will not be volunteers for childcare. We wanted to give families an available place to change a diaper, feed your child, or get the wiggles out, etc. Also, the Student Center, behind the Worship Auditorium, will be available for families to gather with younger children.
Beginning with the first Sunday in January, Sugar Grove Church will offer the Classic service and two modern worship services as well as re-open Nursery, SG Kids, and Café.
We are setting up our worship auditorium with social distancing and it will be sanitized after each service. The seating will be approximately 200 seats and they are first come, first serve.
We are encouraging all Sugar Grove members, attenders and volunteers to wear a face covering. If you need a mask, we will have some available.
Please know if you are not ready to attend an onsite gathering, it’s OK to choose to continue to worship with us online. We truly hope you will be a part of gathering online with us as our services are streamed online live!
Thank you for being a part of Sugar Grove and for your role in helping all people take their next step with Jesus. As we navigate this season, thank you for your patience.
