November 19, 2020
Dear Sugar Grove Family,
Today (Thursday, November 19th) Elkhart County went to the Governor’s defined “Red” zone as a community. The effect of becoming a Red Zone imposes some additional restrictions. Here is a link to the Red Zone Restrictions for our community: https://www.southbendtribune.com/coronavirus/tighter-covid-rules-possible-as-elkhart-county-moves-to-red-zone/article_d24735ba-29e4-11eb-ac88-b3efe87d4728.html
Our response as Sugar Grove Church is rooted in care. Our hospitals are full, schools are going virtual which is putting a lot of pressure on our parents and kids. And the spread in our own church is stretching some of our staff and volunteers to the point of exhaustion, trying to serve understaffed. We are doing this to love our neighbor, to love our community, to love our church, by doing our part to try to slow down the spread of Covid-19.
Beginning this Sunday (11/22) through the last weekend of November (11/29) we will be going completely virtual, live streaming all services only.
As a result, SG Kids Ministry, Student Ministries, First Impressions and Café will remain closed during this time. We will keep the building open to internal and external events as long as the size of the group is 25 or less. If you have a scheduled event and it has more than 25 people planned the event may be taken virtual, canceled or rescheduled into the future.
Finally, many of our staff have tested positive for Covid-19. And we have closed our offices and asked our team to work remotely for the next two weeks. We do have administrative staff checking the voice mail and we will try to return any calls as quickly as possible. Finally, our maintenance team is sanitizing our offices to help remove the virus from our building.
Remember as we navigate this season, God’s got this. Thank you for your patience.
Sincerely; The Elders, Deacons and Staff of Sugar Grove Church
