The following training courses and events are offered throughout the year at Sugar Grove Church to help equip you in our mission to multiply disciples of Jesus for God’s glory.

How to Study the Bible

Ever felt frustrated with the Bible? You’re not alone. Sometimes it can be hard to understand. That’s why this course is so important. We will provide principles that will help you better understand God’s Word. We will teach a process of Bible study that will help you get more out of God’s Word.

Christianity Explored

Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus Come? And, What does it mean for us? Over seven sessions, meet the person of Jesus as we study Mark’s Gospel. Fall in love with the good news, learn how to life a life which glorifies God, and learn how to communicate your faith clearly.

We’ll explore key events, beliefs, & personalities which shaped the church throughout previous centuries, with an emphasis on exploring the history of the various branches of the Church, and how the events which shaped the past still affects today.

Women's Discipleship Training

In this class (for women only), we’ll study Dana Yeakley’s “The Gentle Art of Discipling Women,” which will help us see the need to walk with other women as an essential part of our Christian Life, learn practical advice on how to minister to other women, and most of all, deepen your own love for Jesus.

Demystifying Discipleship

We believe God placed each of us in our homes, jobs, schools, etc. to impact the people we encounter throughout our daily lives. We want to help you understand what it means to be a disciple-maker, find the courage to engage in one-on-one discipleship, and show you how the Gospel makes it all possible. You won’t be an expert by the time we’re done, but you will be better equipped to point people toward Jesus Christ.

Journey Through the Old Testament

Sometimes the Old Testament can be intimidating for people, so they avoid it and only read the New Testament. In this journey we are going to give you a better understanding of the Old Testament so that you will have the confidence to read it for yourself and better understand who God is and what the Bible has to say to us.
