Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy.

Sugar Grove Church collects different types of information regarding our visitors and we want you to know that we take your privacy seriously. This privacy policy summarizes what information we’re collecting and what happens with that information.

How do we collect information?

We collect personal information which visitors voluntarily give us through our connection cards, church app, email subscriptions, event registrations, online forms, surveys, etc. In addition, there is some involuntary information we collect, such as information your computer or mobile device sends (knowns as, “cookies”) when you visit our website or use our church app.

What information do we collect?

Typically we’re collecting information you volunteer such as your name, address, email, phone number, birthdate, spouse name, etc. There are times where you may be entering credit card information on our website or church app (for example, to pay a registration fee for an event or to give a financial gift), but we do not see that information as it’s encrypted by third-party services.

In keeping with common web practices, our web server and Google Analytics collect information related to web visits (such as IP address, browser type, page referrals & visits, time of visit, etc.). “Cookies” are small digital files which are stored on your web browser, enabling us to track log-ins, web preferences, return visits, etc. Your browser may allow you to block these cookies; however, we recommend that you keep them enabled to help us personalize your web experience. Certain online features, such as social media involvement or online forms, require that cookies be enabled.

What do we do with that information?

When you submit basic contact information (through our connection cards or by registering for an event), we use this information to contact you and keep you informed about things at Sugar Grove Church. Some information is necessary for our third-party applications to function (like processing payments through our website or church app).

Sugar Grove provides links to other web sites or uses third-party services which are neither owned nor controlled by Sugar Grove Church. These third party sites, however, are NOT subject to or bound by this privacy policy, and may or may not have their own privacy policies. Sugar Grove Church is not responsible for the privacy policies, data practices or any damages resulting from these other sites.

Again, we respect your privacy, so we do not share or sell your personal information with third parties. However, we do reserve the right to share your personal information if and when it is deemed necessary (for instance, to comply with any applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes involving a government request or to protect the safety of Sugar Grove Church, Sugar Grove’s attendees, or the general public as required and permitted by law).

Also, we dislike spam just as much as you do. In compliance with industry standards, if you wish to opt-out of email communication, you can update your email preferences or unsubscribe using the links found at the bottom of previously sent emails.

How do we secure your information?

In order to safeguard your personal information & protect it against unauthorized access, all of our data & online transactions are handled securely by trusted providers. Access to this information is only granted to the specific personnel, staff, or contractors who are either directly involved in the management of this data or development of our website and church app. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination or criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.

Children under the age of 13

Sugar Grove Church is committed to protecting the privacy and safety of children. We do not knowingly accept personally identifiable information from children who are under the age of 13 without parental consent. Nor will we provide any personally identifying information, regardless of its source, to any third party. Any of our registrations asking for information about a child under the age of 13 should be filled-out by their parent or guardian, and will require name and contact information of a parent or guardian. If you have any questions or concerns about the protection of children’s privacy, or if parents wish to deny consent and request that Sugar Grove Church delete their child’s information, please contact our church office (see below).

Sugar Grove Church reserves the right to change or amend this policy.

This policy is effective as of May 01, 2018.

We will post any substantial changes in this privacy policy at least 7 days prior to implementation of the change. Any information collected under this current policy will remain bound by the terms of this privacy policy. After the changes take effect, all new information collected, if any, will be subject to the revised privacy policy.
